After a three-week trail that ended in October 2010, the verdict was swift. It took the jury just over one and a half hours to find Al Saud guilty of the murder of Abdulaziz. Al Saud was also simultaneously convicted of inflicting grievous bodily harm resulting in Abdulaziz's hospitalization January 22.

After impassively staring at his son during most of the trial, Al Saud's father's emotions burst forth when the guilty verdict was read. "The father passed out," Coleman said. "They had to call the nurse."
