The Disappearance of Danielle Imbo and Richard Petrone

The FBI refuses to characterize the disappearance of Danielle Imbo and Richard Petrone as an unusual case until there's an outcome. But it remains a baffling and frustrating situation. Anthony Valentino, one of the last people to see Danielle and Richard, points out there were hundreds of people on South Street the night they disappeared. Is it possible that no one saw them after they left the bar? So far, no witnesses have come forward.

The police have pursued the possibility that Richard's truck was stolen, taken to a "chop shop," and dismantled for parts. But Sergeant Cooney of the Philadelphia Police Department feels that if this had been the fate of the truck, someone involved would be lured by the $100,000 reward, which would be significantly more lucrative than selling a five-year-old truck piece by piece.

So many questions remain unanswered. Did Danielle and Richard meet a violent end? Was it random violence, or were they targeted? Where are the remains?

Could they possibly still be alive? If so, where are they?

Were they the victims of a car accident? What happened to the pickup truck? Where is it?

Could they have done the unimaginable, abandoning their children to run off and start a new life?

Logically, two adults and a pickup truck don't just vanish without a trace. But in the case of Danielle Imbo and Richard Petrone, that seems to be exactly what has happened.

A federal grand jury in Pennsylvania is said to be addressing some aspect of this case at this time, but its proceedings are secret, and the exact nature of their probe is undisclosed. It's possible that they're seeking the testimony of a reluctant subject. Sergeant Cooney of the Philadelphia police said that "the police have received no official notice regarding a federal grand jury."
