Prostitutes often make easy targets for dangerous men. Around Anchorage, Alaska between 1980 and 1983, Robert Hansen (pictured) murdered between 15 and 21 women, mostly prostitutes. His final would-be victim escaped, still handcuffed, from his small airplane. She went to the police and was able to identify him ending his killing spree. Authorities discovered that Hansen had been hiring prostitutes in Anchorage, Alaska, kidnapping them, and then forcing them, naked and afraid, into the vast wilderness, hunting and killing them like wild animals.
